Grieve, Linda J. (Rooks)

Ypsilanti, MI

With deep faith but great sadness, we are announcing the passing of our beloved Linda. Linda J. (Rooks) Grieve passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving husband and best friend of 56 years, Mike, her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

She was born January 11, 1950 in Moulton, AL, the daughter of Corbin and Birdie (Peppers) Rooks. The family later moved to Milan, MI, where Linda grew up. In 1968 she met the love of her life, Michael Grieve, and they married in 1969. They started their family in Ypsilanti.

Linda loved her family and her children. She enjoyed watching baseball, visiting casinos, and traveling to Hawaii and Las Vegas. She lived for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. May her memory live on and be a blessing.

Linda is survived by her husband Michael, daughter Michelle (Joe Elliott) Grieve, son Chad (Renee) Grieve, grandchildren James Grieve, CJ Grieve and Emily Grieve; sister Gail Rooks, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Waiting at Heaven's gate is her father Corbin Rooks, mother Birdie (Pepper) Rooks, sister Rachel (Rooks) Kennon, brother James Kenneth Rooks, and many other loved ones.

Viewing will be 4-8 pm Friday, November 22, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home 11 am Saturday, November 23, 2024 with visitation beginning at 10 am. Pastor Scott Weaver will officiate. Linda will be entombed in Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor.
