Lillie Marie Hill was born on July 3, 1948, to the late Eulas and Porter Cora Bell Shelley. She departed this life on January 19, 2023, with her family by her side.

She moved to Michigan as a child and was raised by her sister, Edna Reese. She graduated from Cedar Lake Academy in 1966. She retired from the United States Postal Service after 42 years of service. After her retirement, she devoted her time to caring for her grandchildren who affectionately called her Grandma Lil. She enjoyed hosting her family and friends at her home for holidays and parties. You never left her home empty handed.

She married the love of her life, George Hill on August 5,1974 and was a wonderful wife for 46 years. Our mother was a great example of a happily devoted wife. She was special in many ways. Her kindness, compassion and generosity towards her children, grandchildren and family, friends and even strangers will be forever cherished.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hill; sister, Pearline Minnifield; brothers, Fred, Eugene, Frazier, and James Shelley.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her sister, Edna (Julia Mae) Reese; devoted children Reginald Hill, Sr, Rosalyn (Parviz) Ali, and Anthony (Traci)Hill, Adrian (LaRessa) Hill; the true joys of her life 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; 1 special nephew, Derick Lindsay, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals, Ypsilanti. Visitation will begin at 10 am. Lillian will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens in Superior Township, MI.
