Age 80, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at home. She was born January 18, 1944 in Speedwell, Tennessee, the daughter of Albert and Elsie (McNew) Lane. On July 3, 1965, she married the love her of life, Charles D. Evans, at Ypsilanti Missionary Baptist Church. Lillie was a member of Ann Arbor Baptist Church. She was saved as a young girl. Lillie worked at National Bank of Ypsilanti as a Branch Manager for over 40 years, retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and caring for others. She also loved to share her love of Jesus with those around her. She especially enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Lillie was a loving wife, mother and Mamaw and will be deeply missed. Survivors include one daughter Sheri Evans of Ypsilanti; one son Charles Kevin (Karie) Evans of North Carolina; two granddaughters Nicole (Josh) Wimmert and Abbie Evans; three great-grandsons, Landon, Brady and Lane Wimmert; four sisters Ruby (Bob) Daniels, Mary (Cliff) Lundstrum, Anne (Ken) Farmer and Tammy (Ernie) Buttery; and three brothers Clyde (Brenda) Lane, Charles Lane and Jerry Lane; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles Evans, her parents, twin brother Albert Lee Lane, brothers James Lane and Jesse Lane and sister Janice Hurst.

The funeral service will be 11 am Friday, May 17, 2024 at New Life Bible Baptist Church, 1175 S. Grove St, Ypsilanti, MI 48198 with Pastor Robert Mack and Pastor Roger Hurst officiating. The church service will be livestreamed. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery. The family will greet friends 4-8 pm Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals, 101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti. Contributions in her memory may be made to the family for the donation of food to the Food Gatherers – Ann Arbor.
