Lakeytta Turia Watson, age 46, went home to be with the Lord on May 7, 2026, at Garden City Hospital. She was born December 21, 1979, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Lavon Ellis Jr. and Willa Mae Jones.

Lakeytta worked as a Staffing Coordinator for Workskills Corporation for 15 years. A graduate of Huron High School and Central Michigan University, she valued education and hard work throughout her life.

She enjoyed listening to all different types of music, playing dominoes and cards, spending time with family, and trying international foods. Lakeytta lived in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Wixom, and Detroit over the years and was known for her caring spirit and dedication to those she loved.

She is survived by her father, Lavon Ellis Jr.; brothers, Bruce Jones, Javon Ellis, Ravon Ellis, and Trevon Ellis; sisters, Cathy Ellis, Brittany Foster, Monique Smith, Alexis Cooley-Porter, and Briasia Ellis; along with many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Willa Mae Acosta, and her brother, Lavon Ellis III.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation will beginning at 11 am. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Belleville.
