Carson, Judy Mae (Altenbernt)

Chelsea, MI

Age 84, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. She was born May 15, 1939 in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Norman and Dorothy (Tisch) Altenbernt.

Judy worked for the Ann Arbor Police Department right out of high school and later had a long, successful career working in the University of Michigan Hospital department of orthopedic surgery. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea, MI. Judy enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and U-M football. She loved spending time with her family including watching her son and nephews' bands play.

Judy was a strong-willed, compassionate and loving person. She was very funny and had an easy laugh. She cared deeply for her family and loved ones and was known to be a dog/cat whisperer. Judy was so much fun and will be missed immensely.

Judy is survived by her sisters Patricia A. Rogala and Linda Carson; aunt Kathryn (Jack) Miller, nephew Brian (Holly) Carson, and nieces Laurie (Dani) Carson and Freddy Carson; and many dear cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Norman Altenbernt, mother Dorothy B. (Tisch) Altenbernt and beloved son Aaron Ted Carson II.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024. More details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea would be appreciated.
