Leroy, Judith "Judy" Ann

Milan, MI

Age 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Linden Square Assisted Living in Saline, MI. She was born April 19, 1942, in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Francis and Georgie (McLaughlin) St. Charles.

Judy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. The love in her nearly 40-year marriage to John Leroy is only rivaled by her joy in spending time with her grandchildren, Ryland and Addyson. As an amazing cook, her kitchen was always brimming with delicious meals, ensuring no one ever left her home with an empty stomach.

Her career in the airline industry not only allowed her to explore the world but also allowed her to share her love of travel with her loved ones. Despite frequent air travel, she still delighted in embarking on road trips with John, particularly to visit the picturesque lighthouses dotting the Michigan coastline.

Judy had a playful side, too. She found excitement in trying her luck at slot machines in various casinos like Las Vegas, Greek Town, Soaring Eagle, and Firekeepers, often coming out ahead. Yet amidst her adventures, she found solace and contentment in tending to her many flower gardens at home, reveling in the beauty of nature.

But above all, Judy treasured the moments spent surrounded by family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and zest for life left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to have known her. Though she may no longer be with us, her legacy of love and joy will endure through the memories she created and the lives she touched.

Judy is survived by her son John (Melissa) Leroy, grandchildren Ryland Leroy and Addyson Leroy; nephews Ray and Bruce Rayburn; nieces Donella Grissom and Trisha Lynch; and several cousins and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John Leroy; her parents Francis and Georgia St. Charles; brother Glen "Butchy", and sisters Franky and Patricia.

A funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). The family will receive friends at the funeral home 9 am until time of service. Pastor John White will officiate. Judith will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti.
