Joyce (Hoffman) Johnson of Ypsilanti, Michigan

March 5, 1935 – October 11, 2022

Joyce passed away from complications due to Hurricane Ian. Joyce was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan before moving to Ft. Myers, Florida in 1988 to be with her twin granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Hoffman and Vera Holtzman Hoffman Touse and her stepfather Glenn Touse.

She leaves behind her husband, Bruce Johnson, her one and only love, of almost 71 years of marriage; her son Greg Johnson (Tom Ferguson), daughters, Deborah Johnson and Julie (Johnson) Osburn (Jim); two granddaughters, Amy (Osburn) Von Behren (Kurt) and Tiffany (Osburn) Vergowven (Jeff); and six great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three siblings, Betty (Hoffman) Phillips, Larry (Debbie) Hoffman and Richard (Linda) Hoffman, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

Joyce went to Ypsilanti High School and was a member of the Drum & Bugle Corp. She got her GED in 1953.

Joyce was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church, Ypsilanti and Riverside Church in Ft. Myers, Florida where she had a Women's Mentoring Ministry, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
