Joyce Jean Hylton went home to be with the Lord on February 21, 2025, at the age of 85. Joyce was born on February 15, 1940 in Vicco, Kentucky to her parents, Elihue Smith and Addie Rae Millard.

Her and her husband, Charlie Hylton, got married on April 11, 1959, in Perry Kentucky. From there they moved to Detroit, but then went on to settle in Ypsilanti where they started their family. They ultimately ended up in Oscoda after retirement. They had always loved spending the summers there throughout the years.

Before retiring, Joyce devoted over 40 years to her career in insurance sales. She retired from AAA, but went on to spend 15 years with State Farm.

As a devoted Baptist, Joyce always put her trust in God and instilled in her children and grandchildren to do the same.

Over anything else, Joyce loved spending time with her family. It meant everything to her. She was never happier than when she had a house full of her family, especially for the weekly Sunday dinner. So may loving memories were created over the years that will forever be cherished by those who were there.

Joyce's kindness, generosity and great sense of humor will be missed by all who loved her.

Joyce leaves behind her Husband Charlie Hylton.

Children Kathy (Bob) Murray, Michael (Karen) Hylton and Byron Hylton.

Grandchildren Sara (Michael) Smith, Michael (Mariah) Hylton, Rachael (Abe) Adoure-Zehaim, Elizabeth Murray and Emily (Christian) Spencer.

Great grandchildren Christopher (Holly) Smith, Alexandra Smith, Makenzie Smith, Zayn Adoure-Zehaim and Hadley Spencer. There is a great, great grandchild on the way.

She also leaves behind many dear dear nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Preceding her in death are her brothers Donald (Mary) Millard and Charlie (Janet) Millard. Also, a number of nieces and nephews.

According to Joyce's wishes, the family has decided to have her cremated.
