Joseph Edward Weaver, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital in Superior Township, Michigan.

Joseph was born on November 15, 1953 to Marvin Lee Weaver and Lucille Hicks in Manhattan, New York. He and his brothers, Thomas and Richard were raised in the Bronx.

Joseph would eventually move to Yonkers, New York where he would meet the love of his life, Debra Duckett. The two of them were married on October 9, 1982. Soon after, much to their delight, little Eric was born.

The family settled in Ypsilanti, Michigan after his job at Waldenbooks relocated to Ann Arbor. Eventually he wound up at Avis Rental Cars where he dedicated 12 more years before retiring. He was also a devoted member of Crosspointe Community Church and also Greater Faith International Church where he could experience the sense of community based on faith and service to the Lord.

To satisfy his sense of adventure in his younger years, Joseph loved traveling. He also craved the thrills of flying, riding his motorcycle and scuba diving. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures. Spending a day on the golf course with friends, taking in the sights of an air show or cheering on his favorite football team. At home, he would watch movies and nature shows and playing computer games. Sometimes he would just sit back, relax and listen to the soothing sound of jazz or Christian music.

He was the beloved husband of Debra. Devoted father of Eric. Loving brother of Thomas Weaver and Richard McRae. Dear brother-in-law of William Duckett, Jr. (Sibyl) and Vicki P. D. Hudson and son in law of William Duckett, Sr. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends that will miss him dearly.

An 11 am Funeral service will be lead by Pastor Bobby Kelly on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Stark Funeral Professionals. Gathering beginning at 10 am. Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the funeral home.
