John H. "Tucker" Emory, age 85, passed away on May 4, 2026, at Cedar Woods Assisted Living & Memory Care in Belleville, Michigan. He was born on October 30, 1940, in Benoit, Mississippi, to Jeff Emory Sr. and Essie (Edwards) Emory.

John spent many years working as Office Support Staff at Browns Ferry in Alabama. He made his home in Florence, Alabama, where he became known for his caring nature and willingness to help others. He was deeply committed to supporting those working toward recovery and was always ready to encourage and assist anyone in need.

He enjoyed gardening, bowling, and traveling, and found great joy in spending time with family and friends. John's kind spirit, quiet strength, and generosity left a lasting impression on those who knew him.

He is survived by his sisters, Thelma J. Dennis of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Sonji Holmes of Tennessee; a host of nieces and nephews; and the children of the late Carrie B. Stewart.

John was preceded in death by five sisters, Pearline Johnson, Gearldine Emory, Ardell Taylor, Jessie Emory, and Jenotha Green; and three brothers, Jeff Jr. "Wig" Emory, Ernest Emory, and Jimmy Raggs.

A funeral service will be held 12 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 11 am.
