Blevins, John "J.K."

Belleville, MI

Age 85, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 26, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born July 3, 1937 in Millie, KY, the son of Dan and Amy (Skaggs) Blevins.

John "J.K." retired from Ford Motor Company in 1987 after over 33 years of employment at the Rawsonville plant. He was a member of Metro Baptist Church in Belleville, MI. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and tinkering around outside. Above all, John "J.K." loved spending time with his family. He married Ruth Hunt Overbee August 26, 1972 and she survives.

In addition to his wife, John "J.K." is survived by his daughters Denise (Craig) Tomkiewicz and Debbie (Blevins) Cahill; brothers Jimmie Blevins, James Paul (Pam) Blevins, Lonnie Blevins and Jerry (Charlotte) Blevins; grandchildren Jason (Dayana) Overbee, Jill Shree Cahill, Eric Overbee, John (Melissa) Cahill, Brandon Tomkiewicz and Katie Tomkiewicz; great-grandchildren Braylen Cahill, Darien Thomason, Juliana Overbee, Levi Overbee, Braxton Cahill, Shane Overbee and Clara Cahill; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Willie E. Blevins and Harold D. Blevins; and son David Overbee.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, December 2, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 10 am. Pastor Dr. John Vaprezsan of Metro Baptist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 pm Thursday, December 1, 2022. John "J.K." will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
