Age 83, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024. He was born January 18, 1941 in Yalobusha County, MS, the son of Jethro and Vannie Lee (Mosley) Buford.

Joe loved to go to West Willow to visit his rental properties and visit a few friends and family. He enjoyed going for long drives. He was very handy and could fix anything around the house. He was a great handyman to his neighbors as well. He enjoyed traveling to Mississippi, Omaha and Chicago.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Geraldine (Jones) Buford, his children Sheramie Buford, Steven (Paula) Buford, Curtis Jones and Yolanda Jones; special daughter-in-love Stephanie Hart "William," grandchildren Alishia Jones, Dontae Bell, Courtney (DeJuan) McCullough-Horton, Jené Wesley, Tyrice Sanders, Keya Lawson, Stephany Smith, Jarrell Buford, Kadonta Muldrew, Steven Muldrew and Latrell Coleman; special son-in-love Doc Adams, great-grandchildren Ariyanna, Ka'Niya, Kahreem, Jay'Mere, Kamiyah, Maurice Jr. "King," Liam, Unique "Poo Poo", Darnell, Symone, Kylah, Aubrelle "Bre" and K'Ariel; and siblings Mae Nell, Columbus, Jerome, Mildred Nell, Charles, Ralph, Bobby, Roy, Vernon, Leon and Carolyn.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Family hour will begin at noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 pm Friday, February 16, 2024. Joe will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti.
