Celebrating the Life of Joan Cleo Hunt… Age 83, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 at her home. She was born March 6, 1941 in Pontiac, MI, the daughter of Theodore and Frances (Bradley) Hardiman. She married James Hunt April 22, 1961 and he survives.

Joan attended Community Church of God where she was part of the choir. She loved being a member of the Red Hat Society. In her free time, Joan enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and going to the casino. Above all, she treasured time spent with family, especially her grandkids.

In addition to her loving husband of 63 years, Joan is survived by her daughter Juanice Hunt of Ypsilanti, MI; son James (Starr) Hunt Jr. of Forney, TX; grandchildren Cedric (Amber) Howard Jr. of South Lyon, MI; Nathaniel J. Caldwell of Ypsilanti, MI; Garrin (Bryanna) Hunt of Hampton, VA and Jovan (Raven) Hunt of Van Buren, MI; six great-grandchildren; three bonus grandchildren Lynesha, Dywane and Dyrrell Richardson; sister Sharon DeVealt, and brother Gary Anthony "Tony" Hardiman.

She was preceded in death by her father Theodore R. Hardiman, mother Fraces V. Hardiman, brothers Theodore "Bud" Hardiman, Lloyd Hardiman Sr., Robert Hardiman, Leonard "Pee Wee" Hardiman, Dwayne Hardiman and Perry Hardiman; and sisters Mary Jane Weekley and Loretta Hill.

A memorial service will be held 12 pm Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Abundant Life Ministries (855 E. Clark Road, Ypsilanti). Pastor Jerry Jackson Jr. will officiate. Family hour will begin at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
