Burton, Jimmie E. Jr.

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 82, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Trinity Health Hospital – Ann Arbor. He was born October 25, 1942 in Dyersburg, TN, the son of Jimmie and Anna (George) Burton. On October 20, 1963, he married Carolyn (Hogue) Burton and she preceded him in death.

Jimmie loved dancing, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include: two children, Nina (Robert) Robertson and Tina (Chris) Polehna; six grandchildren, Jason Burton, Christine (Sean) Baker, Codie Robertson, Wayne Burton, Mackenzie Burton and Anthony Burton; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife of 56 years, he was preceded in death by his parents, son Wayne Burton and granddaughter Cassandra Polehna.

The funeral service will be 1 pm Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals where visitation will be from 11 am until time of service. All are welcome. Pastor Gordon Moore will officiate. Entombment will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park.
