Mackey, Jewell Frances

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 91, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her home. She was born February 17, 1932 in Corbin, KY, the daughter of Walter and Naomi (Terrell) Hubbs.

Jewell was a member of Graceway Baptist Church in Ypsilanti. She loved the Lord dearly. Family was everything to Jewell. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and other family members, gardening, going on vacation and traveling back to Kentucky for visits.

Jewell is survived by her son Randy Mackey, grandchildren Rachel (Eric) Frazier, Cheryl Mackey and Robert (Shelby Westerh) Mackey; great-grandchildren Erica Frazier, Dylan Frazier, Jacob Frazier, Vivian Mackey, Thomas Rissane III, William Butler Jr., Samantha Mackey, Riley Mackey, Angela Young, Roslyn Young and one great-grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband Hoyt Mackey, son Ron Mackey and granddaughter Karlyn Young.

A funeral service will be held 1:30 pm Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). The family will receive friends at the funeral home 11 am until time of service. Pastor John White will officiate. Jewell will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
