Stokes, Jeffrey Allen

Milan, MI

Age 60, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township, MI. He was born April 28, 1962 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Hubert "Herb" and Mary Ann (Hudgens) Stokes.

Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, boating and snowmobiling. His many years long health struggles gradually prevented him from doing all of these and even forced him into retirement. He still mowed his lawn, which he was so proud of.

Jeff is survived by (his Queen) Deborah Stokes, his loving wife of 31 years; mother Mary Ann Stokes; daughters Stacey (Frank) Chrzanowski and Laura (Dave) Bailey – although they were not biologically related, Jeff detested the term step-daughters, "The only steps in this house go to the basement;" siblings John (Lisa) Stokes and Donna Stokes; grandchildren Jaclyn (Jesse) Childers, Kyle (Lauren) Chrzanowski, John Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Joseph Bailey and Michael Bailey; great-grandson Eli Childers; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents.

Jeff hated funerals, therefore there will not be one. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
