Janice A. Wright, age 92, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away on April 30, 2026, at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. She was born on December 16, 1933, in Jonancy, Kentucky, to Benton and Frances (Osborne) Addington.

Janice graduated from Virgie High School in Virgie, KY in 1953, a year that also marked the beginning of her marriage to Cleon Wright. In 1966, Janice and Cleon made their home in Ypsilanti, where she remained for the rest of her life. She retired from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital (now Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital) in 1999.

Janice was a faithful attendee of Old Regular Baptist Church. She loved exploring new places. At home, she could frequently be found reading, sewing, making baby quilts or working on other quilting projects.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Francine Fryske; grandchildren, Michael (Katie) Fryske, Michelle Fryske (Travis) and Steven (Melissa) Fryske; great-grandchildren James Michael, Jenna Michelle, Isabella "Bella" Anne, Cameron James and Carter Allen; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cleon Wright; her parents; her son-in-law, James Fryske; six siblings; and several cousins.

A funeral service will be held 12 pm Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 11 am. Janice will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery, Ann Arbor.
