Scafasci, Janice Kay

Dexter, MI

Age 82, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Linden Square Assisted Living Center in Saline, MI. She was born September 2, 1942 in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of John and Pearl (Seaton) Robtoy.

Janice graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1961. On December 10, 1962, she married Donald A. Scafasci in Ypsilanti and he preceded her in death September 12, 2019. They were married at and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Janice enjoyed bowling and watching University of Michigan football. She loved watching her children when they were young and later babysitting for her grandkids.

Janice is survived by her son John (Starlena) Scafasci of Dexter; two daughters, Debbie (Daniel) Roberts of Dexter and Teresa Scafasci of Ann Arbor; five grandchildren, Allison, Andrea, Madelyn, Megyn and Kyle; five great-grandchildren, brother Richard Robtoy, three sisters-in-law, Barbara Griewahn of Tecumseh, Linda Scafasci of Clinton and MaryAnn Mercieca of Canton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Matthew John Roberts.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 9 am. Janice will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, Ypsilanti. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
