Age 82, passed away Friday, April 14, 2023 in Clinton Township, MI. She was born September 12, 1940 in Ann Arbor, MI to Herman and Garnet (Rhinehart) Swift.

Janet married Clarence King April 12, 1957. She had a love for sewing, quilting and crocheting. She enjoyed attending services at The First Wesleyan Church of Ypsilanti. Above all, Janet loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Aaron (Charlotte) King and Timothy (MaryAnn) King; grandchildren Joshua (Heather) King, Kyle (Marielle) King and Ashley King; and great-grandchildren Noah, Jonah, Jessie, Kingsley and Sebastian King.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence King; parents Herman and Garnet Swift; and sister Joyce Napier.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 10 am (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-8 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Janet will be laid to rest at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton Township, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The First Wesleyan Church of Ypsilanti: 1646 E. Forest Avenue, Ypsilanti, MI 48198. Envelopes will be available at the service.
