Litzinger, James Michael "Mike"

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 70, entered the gates of Heaven on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1951 in Grafton, WV, the son of James and Janice (Jeffries) Litzinger.

Mike was a Private First Class E3 in the Army and served during the Vietnam War. He had a fondness for fast cars and enjoyed working on them. He liked to reminisce and loved being a big brother. Mike adored his family and had a very giving heart, where his grandchildren were the light of his life.

Mike is survived by his children Michael Paul, Amanda and Carrie (Domingo); grandchildren Justin, Anthony and Isabel; siblings Ellen (Art), Debbie (Harry), Terri (Dan), Tom and Julie (Robert); in addition to nieces and nephews Vanessa, Lita, Lynette, Charlie, James, Joe, Danny, Ben, Tim, Christina, Rebecca, Ethan, Stephanie, Jeffrey and William.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nieces Amie and Lucy; nephew Stephen and sister-in-law Debbie.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Metro Baptist Church (47100 N. I-94 Service Dr., Belleville) with Evangelist Dan Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church 11 am until time of service. Mike will be laid to rest 1 pm Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
