James R. Mack finished his race on Earth on July 30, 2024 at his home. He was born on March 7, 1953, in Salem, Ohio, to Gene and Margaret (Kovacik) Mack.

James started his career as a Mechanical Engineer at General Motors. His passion for helping others led him overseas for five years to do mission work with YWAM Missions Organization. Upon returning to the USA, he transitioned to become a business owner specializing in business consulting and project management. An avid cyclist, golfer, and dedicated fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, James lived a life full of adventure.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheryl Mack; his son Gene (Christine) Mack; his daughters, Jessica Martyn, Lindsey (Richard) Ensley, and Meredith (Andy) Grzyb; his sisters, Jean McCool and Judith (Tom) Emmons; his brother, Jack (Debbie) Mack; his father-in-law Robert Fish; his mother-in-law, Patricia Fish; and his cherished grandchildren, David, Andrew, and Luke Mack, Julyette, and Kensey Martyn, Sam Ensley, and baby Grzyb; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law and many beloved nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Gene Mack, and his uncle, Ray Mack.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mighty Oaks Programs , supporting peer-to-peer recovery programs for veterans.

A funeral service will be held 12 pm Monday, August 5, 2024 at Connection Church (3855 Sheldon Road, Canton). Pastor Dave Stephens will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church 9:30 am until time of service.
