Lore, James Michael

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 69, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021 at his home. He was born July 20, 1952 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of William and Mary (Speller) Lore.

As a young man, James served in the U.S. Army. He later spent his life volunteering at the VA. April 7, 2012, he married Jonnie Willis and they enjoyed several years together prior to her passing in 2019. James regularly attended Metro Baptist Church in Belleville, MI. He enjoyed golfing, working in the garage and gardening. He most enjoyed spending time with his family.

James is survived by his children Melanie Lore, Jeffrey Lore and Krista Lore; grandchildren Amanda, Jacob, Michelle, Samuel, Jackie, Jared, Christopher, Shaylin and Mia; and great-grandchild Landon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother David Lore and grandson Andrew.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday, December 31, 2021 at Metro Baptist Church : 47100 N. Interstate 94 Service Drive, Belleville. Pastor John L. Vaprezsan will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. James will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
