James "Jim" Hoyt Wagner, age 75, went home to be with the Lord on January 29, 2026, at Trinity Health Hospital – Ann Arbor. He was born on April 20, 1950, to Lawrence August Wagner and Clover Rose (Hoyt) Wagner.

Jim built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. On February 14, 1988, he married the love of his life, Sandra L. Wagner. Together they shared many years of devotion, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.

Jim earned his PhD in musical arts and performance from the University of Michigan. He worked in janitorial and maintenance services for 26 years with AACRC, where he was known for his strong work ethic and quiet dependability. He was a faithful member of Grace Immanuel Bible Church and found great joy in his relationship with Jesus Christ. His faith guided his life and was reflected in the kindness and steady presence he offered to those around him.

He especially cherished time with his family and had a deep love for music. Whether gathered for holidays, church events, or simple evenings at home, Jim valued being surrounded by the people he loved most.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Wagner; his children, Don Wagner, Shari Pharris, and Philip Wagner; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph Wagner; Carol Wagner, and John Wagner; and many extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held 11:30 am Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Ann Arbor Community Reformed Church (1717 Broadway, Ann Arbor, MI 48105). Officiating will be Pastor Clark Sexton. A luncheon will follow the service.

Jim will be remembered for his steady faith, his love for his family, and the quiet way he lived out his beliefs each day.
