Hall, James Ray

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 65, passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 at home. James was born October 3, 1958 in Inez, KY, the son of Bobby and Ivel (Wells) Hall.

James had a passion for carpentry and learned his skill while attending Building Trades at Lincoln High School in 1976-1977. He later obtained a painting business (Mary's Painting) located on Tyler Road in Ypsilanti, MI. He went on to do freelance work in various forms of carpentry.

James loved anything that went fast - horses, ATVs and especially cars. On Sundays, you would find him watching the NASCAR races.

In his last few years, he cared for his disabled younger brother Bobby Lynn and together they enjoyed planting and working in the garden.

James is survived by his father Bobby Ray Hall, sister, Patricia Moore, brothers Bobby Lynn Hall and Larry Joe Hall; daughters Mariann Hall and Samantha Lance (Hall); five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Stark Funeral Professionals. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-8 pm Monday, July 22, 2024. James will be laid to rest in Union-Udell Cemetery, Ypsilanti Township.
