Goold, James Edward

Age 86, passed away May 12, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 7, 1938 in Saginaw, MI, the son of James F. and Alice K. (Worden) Goold. He married the love of his life, Vonna (Riggs) Goold, on April 29, 1972 and together they shared 41 loving years of marriage until her passing in 2014.

James worked at the Willow Run General Motors Plant for 30 years until his retirement in 1993. In his free time, he loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping or even mowing his yard; he took great pride in his lawn. He enjoyed going to the casino and playing a round of cards with his family and friends. James always looked forward to people stopping by for a visit. Above all, he treasured time spent with his kids and grandkids.

James is survived by his children Terry (Tom) Bulgrin, Douglas (Annette) Goold and Susan (the late John) Taylor; grandchildren Shannon (Scott), Robert Jr. (Kelley), Bryan, Keith, Tabitha (Eddie), Tim (Jamie), Bradley (Ariana), Brandon, Chelsea, Terra (Dennis), Ray (Angel), Crystal (Shawn) and Kile (Toni); great-grandchildren Carter, Griffin, Willa, Max, Robert III, Rose, Bri, Lily, Tony, Jessie, Olivia, Grady, Royce, Troy, Zoie, Claire, Parker, Noah, Louis, Tallya, Devin, Savannah, Melani and Max; and great-great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Connor and Madeline.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

A funeral service will be held 7 pm Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals. Visitation will begin at 6 pm. James will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, Bearsville, WV.
