Jack Shirley, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on January 3, 2026, in Northville, Michigan.

Jack was born on September 12, 1937, in North Olmsted, Ohio, to Fred and Jessie (Nale) Shirley. He spent his life grounded in faith, family, and steady dedication to those he loved and served.

On July 8, 1967, Jack married his beloved wife, Yolanda (Gable) Shirley, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, with whom he shared many years together. She preceded him in death.

Jack enjoyed a successful career as a stockbroker and financial advisor, working for Paine Webber, Beacon Investment Company, and Raymond James, over the course of 40 years, before retiring in 2015.

A man of faith, Jack was an active church member for decades at Bethany Bible Church in Belleville, Michigan, and most recently at Calvary Baptist Church in Canton, Michigan.

Jack found great joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved bike riding, fishing, golfing, deer watching, and was a devoted Ohio State fan. He also had a fondness for ice cream, pie, and his signature pink polo shirts, which brought smiles to those around him.

He is survived by his daughter Alison Shirley; his son and daughter-in-law Reid and Erin Shirley; and four beautiful grandchildren, who were the light of his later years. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Mel Gable and Howard Kyser; sister-in-law, Mary Shirley; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his wife, Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Fred Jr., Robert, and Wayne Shirley; and his sister Shirley Kyser.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 4 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 43065 Joy Road, Canton, Michigan with Pastor Dave Riddle officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-8 pm on Friday, January 9, 2026 at the funeral home as well as one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Jack will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in a private ceremony at a future date.
