Irene Jones, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026 in Manchester, MI. She was born September 17, 1935, in Hindman, KY, the daughter of Maston and Reda (Holcomb) Cornett.

Irene was a devoted sports fan who rarely missed cheering on the Detroit Lions, Pistons, and Tigers. A true sports enthusiast, she enjoyed following her teams through every season. She also loved country music and treasured the time she spent with her family, especially during gatherings and special occasions.

She is survived by her son, Terry "Scott" (Lynn) Jones; grandchildren, Joshua (April) Jones, Jennifer Jones, and Megan Jones; great-grandchildren, Gage, Gavin, Kennedy, and Everett; and brothers, Buck Cornett and Jack (Sandy) Cornett.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy R. Jones; brothers, Sheryl and Carvin Cornett; sister-in-law, Shirley Cornett; and her parents, Maston and Reda Cornett.

Visitation will be held 5-9 pm Friday, May 22, 2026 at Stark Funeral Professionals. Funeral services will take place 11 am Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the funeral home with Brother Danny Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor Township.
