Henrietta May (Burt) Sears, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, in Saline, Michigan.

She was born on February 10, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio, to her parents, John and Helen (Morton) Burt.

At a young age Henrietta moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where she met her and married her husband of 72 years, George Sears, on November 8, 1940. Together they owned and managed apartment houses while raising their family. She and George enjoyed many winters at their summer home where they would relax on the beach with a good book.

Henrietta was a kindhearted woman who would help anyone in need. She was also an animal lover and always had a family pet. In her spare time, she found pleasure in sewing and reading. She was also known for her baking skills, especially at Christmas time. As a long time parishioner at St. John the Baptist Church, she could always be counted on to provide delicious treats for all the church events.

She is survived by her son Dennis Sears, her grandchildren Brandon and Carrie; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband George and two sons, George and Scott. Cremation has taken place, and she has been laid to rest next to her husband at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
