Helen Elizabeth Richardson

August 12, 1931 – July 4, 2025

Helen Elizabeth Richardson, age 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on July 4, 2025. Born on August 12, 1931, to Samuel Wilson and Margaret Stevenson Wilson.

Helen was a devoted member of South Side Baptist Tabernacle and was involved in every aspect of church life. Her faith guided her daily, and her commitment to her community was evident in the way she was always there for others—whether family, friend, or neighbor. She had a generous heart that touched everyone she met.

She loved to travel, always returning home with stories and cherished memories. Helen took great pride in caring for her home and making it a welcoming place for all. She also loved going out to eat and enjoying a good meal with loved ones.

Helen is survived by her son, Ron (the late Jennifer) Richardson; daughter, Carol (the late Tim) Rutherford; and daughter-in-law, Linda. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren: Sarah, Heather, Tracy, Christa, Steven, Denise, Michelle, Rachel, Daniel, and Rebecca; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Roy Richardson (who passed away on January 12, 2020); son, David Richardson (April, 2012), and her brother Robert Wilson.
