Age 95, passed away Monday, December 11, 2023 in Westland, MI. She was born November 25, 1928 in Grand Junction, CO, the daughter of George and Grace (Stahl) Godfrey.

Grace was a member of Willis Baptist Church in Willis, MI. She loved to cook and worked as a waitress for many years. Grace married Lloyd Bowen and they shared 59 loving years together. After Lloyd's passing in 2005, Grace became a member of the Red Hat Ladies and greatly enjoyed being a part of that group.

Grace is survived by two daughters, Gloria (Gary) Shaw of Milan and Denise (Fran) Hawkins of Ypsilanti; one son, Michael (Dieu Huong) of Houston, TX; 13 grandchildren, Dale Raymond, Melissa Green, Donald Lyons, Dennis Hill, Daryle Hill, Derek Hill, Jamie Kasmier, Stacy Handsor, Katie Hawkins, Lee Hawkins, Amanda Hawkins, Daniel Bowen and Brandon Bowen; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sharon Sweeney and granddaughter Crystal Raymond.

A funeral service will be held 3 pm Monday, December 18, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington St., Ypsilanti) with Pastor Tony Greene officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2 pm until time of service.

Grace will be laid to rest in Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Willis Baptist Church via mail: 8687 Bunton Rd., Willis, MI 48191.
