Gladys Pearl Schwartzenberger passed away May 25, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born October 6, 1937 in Mount Pleasant, TN, the daughter of Clarence and Lela (Henson) Phillips.

Gladys worked on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and shopping. She loved going up north, visiting the family cabin in Grayling. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family.

Gladys was a devout Catholic. At different times in her life, she was a parishioner of St. Alexis, St. John, St. Ursula and St. Joseph churches.

Gladys is survived by her children Edward (Sue) and Vic Jr. (Heather); sister Patty Phillips, grandchildren Tina, Kelly, Pam, Ricky, Scott, Maria, Eric and Danielle; as well as several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Victor Schwartzenberger, parents Clarence and Lela Philips, sister Clydene Parsons, brother Jay Phillips, daughter Wanda Stickler, and granddaughter Kristie Warden.

A funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday, May 30, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Viewing will begin at 11 am.
