Gerald John Rolak "Jerry" was born on October 10, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Helen Rolak. Jerry, who resided in Hudson, Michigan, passed away on April 13, 2025 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Marylou (Gaona) for 19 years. Loving father of Kimberly Stasiak, Gerald Jr., Stephen (Christine), Sherry Farkas (John) and Kerry Welt (Mike). Loving stepfather of Jason (Karen) and Domenic (Ashley). Dear brother of Deborah Gizicki (James) and the late Dennis (Lori). Dearest grandfather "Papa" to 19 grandchildren and dearest great-grandfather "Papa" to five great-grandchildren. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jerry is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.

Jerry was a kind, loving guy, with a big heart, who made everyone laugh. His keen sense of humor, funny faces and being responsible for putting whipped creme on noses, would put smiles on many faces. He was the life of the party and was usually the one responsible for having them. You could always count on having a delicious meal when you came to his home. Why? Because Jerry was an excellent cook and loved to critique restaurant food. His recipes for city-chicken, fish and barbecue pork, with his homemade sauce, would rival any one of them. When not cooking you could find Jerry on the dance floor singing and dancing to the songs of the 60's. Every year, you could also find him planting a vegetable garden and maintaining a perfect lawn. He was, an excellent pool player, loved the game of horseshoes and playing slots at the casino. But most of all, being "Papa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and making them laugh.

But fishing was his #1 sport and he was so great at the art. It was not surprising to see him on his boat, for hours. But his greatest joy was passing his love for fishing down to his children and grandchildren. The most important prized possession in Jerry's life was his family. He was a loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend. He worked hard to give his family everything they needed. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He left beautiful memories for everyone that knew him. Oh Jerry, you will be so missed.

A funeral mass will be held 12 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with in state at 11 am (9425 Whittaker Road, Ypsilanti). The family will receive friends 2-8 pm Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti).
