George Franklin "Bub" Rister of Ypsilanti, Michigan passed away on January 22, 2024 at the age of 70. He was born in Kentucky on March 29, 1953. George began working at the Ford Motor Company Livonia Transmission plant in 1972 but was drafted not long after he was hired. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy, George returned to Ford Motor Company and continued to work in Skilled Trades until his death. When he wasn't working, George could usually be found on a golf course.

George is survived by his wife, Barb Rister, as well as five sisters: Sue (Benny) Cantrell of Ypsilanti, Debbie (Peter) Forgacs of Britton, Jane (Russ) Parish of Tecumseh, Bonnie (Bud) Niceley of Holt, and Subrenna (Ray) Kopriva of Willis. He also leaves behind one brother, Johnnie (Melissa) Rister and his brother-in-law Mark Mierzwa of Manchester, and his beloved dog Jasper.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Estaleen Rister on July 9, 1998, his father, Frank Rister Jr. on March 25, 2007 and his sister Judy Mierzwa on January 7, 2017.
