Eunice Trout, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2026, in South Lyon, Michigan. She was born on August 11, 1937, in Pikeville, Kentucky, the daughter of Phillip and Nettie (Justice) Murphy. Eunice made her home in Ypsilanti for more than 70 years, where she built a life centered on faith, hard work, and family.

Eunice worked for 18 years as a line worker at Norris Industries and later continued working in food preparation, where she was well known for making homemade meals for various companies. No matter where she worked, caring for others through food was something she took pride in and truly enjoyed.

In 1960, she married Lonzo Trout in Ypsilanti. Together they shared many years of marriage and family life. Eunice was a faithful member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church.

She found joy in simple, steady routines—crocheting, tending to her yard, and especially working with her flowers. Gardening, canning, and cooking were second nature to her, and family dinners were her favorite way to show love. She cherished time spent caring for her grandchildren and took great pride in being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Eunice is survived by her children, Shelia (Bill) Widmayer and Lonnie (Suzanne) Trout; her grandchildren, Jeremiah Trout, Samantha Trout, and Joshua (Simone) Trout; her great-grandson, Dean Elliot Lonzo Trout; her sisters, Maxi Syck and Barbara Reuter; and many other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lonzo Trout; and her siblings, Oki Murphy, Euna Anderson, Buna Hunt, Chris Neisel, Jerri Thomas, and Dewey Murphy.

A funeral service will be held 12:45 pm Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Stark Funeral Professionals with visitation beginning at 11 am. Eunice will be laid to rest in Cadillac Memorial Gardens West.

Eunice will be remembered for her steady presence, her love of family, and the many meals and moments that brought people together around her table.
