Elizabeth Miline Monique Krebs, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2025, due to heart failure. She was born on May 11, 1951, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

In 1975, Elizabeth married the love of her life, Tilmann Krebs, in The Hague. Their bond began long before that—having met when they were both very young—and blossomed into a devoted partnership that lasted more than 56 years. Tilmann always knew Elizabeth was the one he wanted to spend his life with, and he considers himself deeply fortunate to have shared so many years with such a loving and remarkable wife.

In 1978, the couple emigrated to the United States, eventually settling in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Together, they created a warm and meaningful life.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her gentle, caring nature and her deep appreciation for animals and plants. She and Tilmann spent much of their time outdoors, walking or biking through nature, savoring its quiet beauty. Elizabeth enjoyed reading books and magazines and solving word puzzles, and she had a true passion for cooking. Her inventive recipes—especially her beautiful and delicious salads—were a source of joy for those around her. She was also a talented baker that discovered recipes and loved surprising Tilmann with sweet treats.

The couple found happiness in life's simple pleasures: thoughtful conversations, planning for the future, and evenings spent watching documentaries and nature films. Their life together was one of quiet companionship, mutual respect, and enduring love.

Elizabeth and Tilmann complemented each other perfectly. Their partnership was a rare and beautiful one, built on decades of shared experiences, trust, and affection. Elizabeth's presence made the world a kinder, more vibrant place, and she will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the Netherlands.
