Bortz, Elaine Beulah

Tecumseh, MI (Formerly of Ypsilanti, MI)

Age 81, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022 in Tecumseh, MI after a courageous 20+ year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born November 28, 1940 in Ypsilanti, MI, the daughter of Frederick and Beulah (Martin) Bortz.

Elaine held Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education from Eastern Michigan University. She taught in Ypsilanti Public Schools for over 30 years. She later worked as a clerk for many years at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Elaine enjoyed traveling and had a fondness for cats. She loved people. Elaine was beautiful inside and out.

Elaine is survived by her brother Dr. Richard Bortz of Carbondale, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Elaine will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee .
