Edgel "Paw Paw" Hall, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, at the age of 91, in Ypsilanti, MI. Born on February 24, 1933, in Teabury, KY, Paw Paw was a remarkable man whose life was characterized by love, hard work, and an unwavering spirit.

Paw Paw's journey began in the beautiful rolling hills of Kentucky, but it wasn't until he came north to Ypsilanti, MI, at the Chicken Inn Drive-In, that he met the love of his life. Despite having grown up just 15 minutes apart and attending elementary schools only miles away, it wasn't until they both moved to Ypsilanti that they finally crossed paths. This serendipitous meeting blossomed into a beautiful marriage that lasted a lifetime.

A dedicated worker, Paw Paw instilled a strong work ethic in his family. He spent many years contributing to the automotive industry, working both day and night shifts at Willow Run Assembly and Ford Assembly, before retiring from Willow Run in 1991. No job was too big or too small for him; he also dabbled in various odd jobs, including working in concrete, building small engines, and digging ditches. In a testament to his skill, he even built the house his granddaughter up in, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and craftsmanship.

In addition to his professional achievements, Paw Paw proudly served in the military, narrowly missing action in the Korean War. His ship was poised to arrive in Korea when peace was achieved, an experience that shaped his character and further deepened his appreciation for life.

His legacy continues through his two loving daughters, Patricia (Roscoe) Isaac and Sandra (Brent) Mohr; as well as his cherished granddaughters, Jenn (Erik) Kershaw and Karina Mohr; great-granddaughter, Ash (Tyler) Isaac, and great-grandson Miles Kershaw. Paw Paw was a pillar of strength and wisdom in their lives, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Paw Paw was preceded in death by his parents Will and Martha (Howell) Hall, His cherished wife, Wilma Andrés Hall. He also mourned the loss of his brother, Greenberry Hall, and four sisters: Margaret Booth, Draxie Slone, Pauline Taylor, Maxie Hall, and Betty Pennington; along with one great-granddaughter, Evelyn "Evie" Grace.

Paw Paw was not only a hard worker but also a man of many passions. He was an avid golfer, achieving the remarkable feat of making an eagle on the course—not just on a putt-putt course— and he embraced fitness later in life, running his first 5K, The Color Run, with his granddaughter and great-granddaughter at the age of 81. On his 82nd birthday, he celebrated with another 5K, this time through Epcot in Walt Disney World, showcasing his zest for life and adventure.
