Stephens Sr., Eddie Lee

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 83, completed his Earthly assignment and went home to the Lord Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born February 16, 1939 in Fort Mitchell, AL, to the parentage of Jimmie and Hattie (Thomas) Stephens.

Described by those who knew him as an incredibly hard worker, Eddie was a member of Romulus Community Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering at his grandchildren's elementary schools.

Eddie is survived by his wife Frances (Smith) Stephens, children Bobby Henderson, Cathy Kendrick, Arthur Henderson, Eddie Lee (Deamaire) Stephens Jr., Sheila Charlton and Caryn Wilcher; grandchildren Patrick Kendrick, Ebony Real, Danielle Kendrick, Ryan (Rebecca) Stephens, Shannon Kendrick, Jasmine Stephens, Aaron (Sharzay)  Stephens, Nicholas Stephens, Tianna Mobley, Kyle Wilcher, Taryn Wilcher and Treyvon Wilcher; great-grandchildren Cameron Herrod, Lailah Kendrick, Kennedy Real, Anizhae Borden, A.J. Borden, Immanuel Stephens, Amari Stephens, Ziare Gunn, Akiyah Wilcher and Arianna Seta; sisters-in-law Mattie Stephens and Victoria Gilbert; and a host of nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Linda Stephens, brother Jimmie Stephens and granddaughter Chlon Borden.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Romulus Community Baptist Church with Reverend Hiram McBurrows officiating (6200 4 ^th Street, Romulus, MI) with family hour beginning at 10 am. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday, March 7, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals in Ypsilanti, MI. Eddie will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens in Superior Township, MI.
