Earnest "Earnie" Griffin, Age 78, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born January 11, 1944 in Ypsilanti, the son of Fred E. and Margery M. (Williams) Griffin.

He was a lifetime resident of Ypsilanti. Earnie was a factory worker at the Willow Run GM plant for many years, retiring in 1999. After his retirement, he kept busy with part-time jobs that interested him, including assembling bikes at Toys "R" Us. He also worked and volunteered for many years at the Michigan Firehouse Museum. Earnie loved to learn about local history and organized exhibits of Ypsilanti memorabilia.

Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn L. (Lucado) Griffin; one child, Michael Griffin of Ypsilanti; two brothers, Ted (Linda) Griffin, and Gene Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Glen Griffin Sr.

The funeral service will be 11 am Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Stark Funeral Service. Pastor Jim Newcomer of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-7 pm Tuesday, November 29, 2022.
