Earl Leslie Holbrook, age 76, passed away at Corewell Health in Taylor on August 7, 2025, with his loving wife of 52 years at his side.

Earl was born in Ypsilanti, MI on November 28, 1948 to his parents, George and Margie (Wrightsman) Holbrook. He was one of seven children with one sister and five brothers. They were all very close and remained best friends throughout their lives.

Childhood friends, Earl met Vanda when he was nine years old. As young adults, they fell in love. They were married in Ypsilanti, at their first home on August 3, 1973. They would go on to have two beautiful daughters, Angi and Christine.

Earl was a Vietnam veteran, proud of his service time in the Navy aboard the USS Ranger.

Earl dedicated 30 years to his career at General Motors, Willow Run. He worked on both the assembly and case lines. In 2008, Earl retired. He and Vanda were able to fully enjoy themselves at their home in Milan. Here, they would host many unforgettable family gatherings.

Repairing classic cars was a passion of Earl's. There were many over time, but his pride and joy was his '67 Chevelle SS 396. Spending time at the cabin in Hillman, MI was another enjoyment. Above all, Earl loved his family. He spent as much time with them as he could.

Earl was a fun-loving man that enjoyed life to it's fullest. He could always put a smile on your face. He made sure the ones he loved knew it. He will never be forgotten by the ones whose hearts he has touched.

Devoted brother of Ronnie Holbrook, Bobby Holbrook, John Holbrook, Johnny (Janet) Varney, Pauline Kennedy-Ball, and Louie (Barb) Kennedy. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Bev Meadows, brothers Bill and Rick (Linda) Holbrook; sister-in-law Kay Kennedy, and brother-in-law Butch Kennedy.

A 1 pm funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Stark Funeral Professionals, Ypsilanti. Visitation will begin at 11am. An entombment to follow at Washtenong Memorial Park.
