Donna C. Martin, age 91, of Hudson, Florida (formerly of Ypsilanti, Michigan), passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on October 6, 1934, in Barnett's Creek, Kentucky, Donna was the daughter of Vincel and Donna Fannin. She was one of nine children and is preceded in death by all eight of her brothers and sisters: Bryant Fannin, Charles Fannin, Granvel Fannin, Gerald Fannin, Frank Fannin, John Fannin, Mary Ealy, and Phyllis Wells.

In 1948, at the age of 13, Donna moved from Barnett's Creek, Kentucky, to Ypsilanti, Michigan, to help her sister Phyllis with her growing family. Donna graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1952. That same year she married the love of her life, William Frank Martin. Together they raised two sons, William (Billy Joe) and Scott.

Donna began her working career while still in high school at Barnes Foodland. After graduation, she joined the City of Ypsilanti Water Department as a clerk/stenographer. Through dedication and hard work, she advanced to become the Department Manager of the YUCA Water Department, a position she held with pride until her retirement.

After retiring, Donna moved to Hudson, Florida, where she spent the last 25 years living her best life. She was deeply devoted to her church in Hudson, where she faithfully worked in the thrift store for many years, serving her community with joy and generosity. Donna was also known for her delicious Southern-style fried chicken, her famous chocolate chip cookies, and her rich chocolate pie, which brought joy and smiles to family gatherings and church events alike.

A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, Donna lived her life according to His teachings—showing kindness, integrity, and love to all those around her.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: William "Billy" (Denise) Martin, and Scott (Dianna) Martin; four grandchildren and their spouses: Haley (Brian) Slagh, Brittany (Chase) Hill, Maxwell (Cassie) Martin, and Aimee (Paul) Westhouse; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Donna's honor to a local church or charity that supports Christian outreach, particularly those involved in thrift store ministries.

Donna will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose strong faith guided her every step of the way. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, delicious home-cooked meals, and unwavering trust in her Savior.
