Donna Marie Barlage passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023 at age 69. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 11, 1953, the tenth of twelve children.

She is survived by three sisters, Carmelita Hartmann, Patricia (Duane) Noworyta, and Terese Blumhardt; two brothers, David (Cherie) and Jude Barlage; two sisters-in-law, Ann and Cathy Barlage; and a brother-in-law, Jim Fielder.

Donna was predeceased by her parents Edward and Margaret Barlage; two sisters, Irene Laurain and Mary Ann Fielder; four brothers, Daniel, Edward Jr., John, and Tony Barlage; her sisters-in-law, Diana and Geraldine Barlage; and brothers-in-law, Michael Blumhardt, Michael Hartmann, and Jim Laurain Sr.

Donna grew up in Willis, Michigan, where she loved spending time with her large family. She enjoyed sweets, and anyone visiting with chocolate ice cream or homemade treats was always rewarded with a big smile. Hershey's chocolate bars and M&M's were her candies of choice. Donna enjoyed life's simple pleasures such as watching Bambi and Alvin & the Chipmunks, playing with playdough and listening to Motown and country music of the 1960's. Johnny Cash was a favorite.

Her happiness and love were an important part of her large and boisterous family, and she will be deeply missed by her siblings, her cousins, and her many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (9425 Whittaker Road, Ypsilanti). Visitation will begin at 10 am and run until time of service. The family will receive friends 3-8 pm Friday, July 28, 2023 at Stark Funeral Professionals (101 South Washington Street, Ypsilanti). Donna will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Ypsilanti.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics .
