Donald "Don" George Kepler, Sr., age 87, of Ann Arbor, passed away on July 23, 2026, at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. Born on September 23, 1938, in Ypsilanti, he was the son of George and Edith (Fix) Kepler. He married Dorothy Wheeling on January 31, 1980, in Ypsilanti, beginning a loving marriage that spanned more than 46 years.

Don proudly served his country in the United States Army. He had a deep appreciation for military history and was a steadfast supporter of veterans. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he found great enjoyment in riding whenever he could. He also had a strong interest in tropical fish and was a dedicated advocate for animal rights, reflecting his compassion for all living creatures.

Don is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Kepler; his children, Donald "Don" Kepler, Jr. (John Kepler), Cindy Wencel, and Jimmy (Rita) Wencel; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends are invited to visit Stark Funeral Professionals on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, beginning at 11 am, where the funeral service will follow at 1 pm. Pastor John White will officiate. Burial will take place at Union-Udell Cemetery.

Don will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his love of country.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Huron Valley .
