Dionisios (Dennis) Stamatopoulos

Born March 17, 1990 in Detroit, Michigan to Haralambos (Bob) and Fotini Stamatopoulos. The second son to immigrants from Messinia, Greece, Dennis grew up around his aunts, uncles, cousins and his extended family in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His love for people and his ability to keep connections alive over the course of his life was his greatest gift. Dennis would not forget a birthday and if you forgot his birthday, he would be the first to remind you. He had the ability to light up a room and make others feel special.

Dennis will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his deep love for his family, and his gift for making friends wherever he went. There is not a person who met Dennis that he did not leave an impression on.

Living on to remember him are his parents Bob and Fotini, and his brother Grigorios (Greg); his grandparents Grigori, Georgia, and Christina; his uncles Niko (Stella), Sotiri (Despina), and Panagioti (Anna); his aunts Helen (John), Anita (Tim), Nikki (Kosta) and Angeliki (Dimitri); cousins Jeannie (Angelo), Sia (Billy), Dimitri, Grigori (Maria), Sofia (Tasos), Gregory, Georgia (Tony), Petrina (Vinny), Grigori (Vaso), Georgia, Maria, Georgia, Greg, Yanni, Christina (Thanasi), Georgia, Soula (Steve), Deanna, Cristian, Yanni, Liam, and Maks; and best friends Joanna and Yanni.

He is preceded in death by his Uncle George and Grandfather Dionisi. He was well-loved by his family and friends, who wish we would have had many more years to enjoy his company. θα μας λείπει.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (3109 Scio Church Road, Ann Arbor). Dennis will be laid to rest in Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor.
