Dianna Louise Rowry, called out to her beloved "Father God" to take her home, and he answered, on March 6, 2025.  Dianna was born on July 31, 1940 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late William O. Thomas and Beverly K. Clemons.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Juba Solo, Sylvia Johnson, Walter Thomas, her former husband and life-long friend Roosevelt Rowry Sr. and her daughter, Teresa Kay Rowry

At the age of fifteen, Dianna met and eventually began dating Roosevelt Rowry, while attending Ann Arbor High School.  Dianna graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1958.  The teen romance blossomed, culminating with their marriage on November 17, 1962.  They were married for thirty-six years and from their union four children were born, three of whom are still living.  She wanted so much to be a mom, one who was present, who demonstrated love, who cared and shared of herself and her life experiences.  "Her children rise up and call her blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired)" Prov 31:28 Amp.  Dianna was employed by Washtenaw County Government for just over twenty-seven years, until her retirement as a Payroll Clerk on September 21, 1996.  Following her retirement, Dianna worked as an Office Assistant for Michigan Visiting Nurses for six years and in her daughter's Insurance Agency until 2017.

In 2003, Dianna prayed to the Lord to lead her to a church home where she could serve God, through serving his people.  She joined Second Baptist Church in Ann Arbor, in November 2003 during an annual fall revival and was baptized in February 2004.  Dianna, faithfully, attended weekly bible studies, Sunday school, Seasoned Saints outings and served in the Nursing Home Ministry, Tribe Ministry, SBC monthly Motor Meals route and the weekly Human Services (Food) Program.

Dianna is so lovingly remembered by family and friends for her thoughtfulness; she would always call or text on your birthday and holidays.  She was present to celebrate your graduation, your baby or bridal shower, your wedding, or in the audience if you were receiving an award or recognition.  Dianna was kind-hearted and selfless, always showing that she cared about what concerned you.  She believed in being that physical abiding presence and willing to listen if you needed to share your troubles.

Dianna leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Michael Thomas of Berkeley, California, her children, Roosevelt Rowry Jr. "Roby" of Ann Arbor, MI, Dana Rochelle Rowry of Ann Arbor, MI, Ricco Thomas (Theresa) Rowry of Farmington Hills, MI, grandsons Lathan T. Rowry and Eian P. Rowry, three sisters-in-law: Mary Thomas, Doris Rowry of Buena Park, California and Margaret Rowry, cousins: Russell (Doris) Calvert, Burgess Duane Calvert, Thomas Clemons, Sr., Christopher Clemons and Bernadine Dejarnette, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, her life-long friend, Nancy Hall, and her Second Baptist Church family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Second Baptist Church of Ann Arbor (850 Red Oak Road). Family hour to begin at 10 am. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery will follow.
