Age 65, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born December 15, 1955 in Ypsilanti, the son of Dennis J. and Madge E. (Adkins) Dowling.

Dennis retired from the submarine division of the U.S. Navy, which was celebrated on the U.S.S. Constitution in Boston, MA. He retired at the age of 40 from the U.S. Navy. Dennis then went on to receive his Masters Degree to prepare for a career in hazardous waste management.

Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his favorite California band, The Fulcos. He was a devout Catholic and a 4 ^th degree Knights of Columbus.

Dennis was the life of the party. He had a great smile and always made a friend wherever he went. The most important part of Dennis' life though was his two daughters, whom he was very proud of and loved very much.

Dennis is survived by: his daughters, Colby Dowling and Baily Dowling; siblings, Mary (Brad) Stark, Tim (Donna) Dowling, Margaret (Randy) von Steinen, Jim (Carla) Dowling, and Jane Dowling; half-brother Robert Adkins; uncle James K. Dowling; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Madison and cousin Derrick Dowling.

The funeral mass will be 11 am Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 34530 W. Michigan Avenue, Wayne with Fr. Sean Bonner as celebrant. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends 3-8 pm Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Stark Funeral Professionals where the rosary will be prayed at 4 pm. There will also be a visitation at the church from 10:30 am until time of mass Monday.
