Age 95, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 in Brighton, MI. He was born August 17, 1926 in Onsted, MI, the son of Arlo and Elva (Denslow) Russell.

Dean always said, "Most people take their camera on vacation; my camera took me all over the world." He enjoyed traveling and scuba diving with his wife Phyllis of 65 years. He was an avid skier, enjoyed sailing his Hobie Cat on Ford Lake and riding his motorcycle. He achieved Eagle Scout status and served in the Army Air Corp. in World War II. He was an active member of Ypsilanti Kiwanis Club, Viva Venturers and a founding member of St. Matthews Methodist Church.

Dean is survived by his children Victoria Russell and Jeff (Lori) Russell; grandchildren Aubry A. Russell and Mckenna N. Russell; sister Nancy (Raymond) Collins, and many loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, son Michael Russell and son-in-law Ron Winters.

Visitation will be held 10-11am Saturday, January 22, 2022 at St. Matthew's Methodist Church followed by a memorial service at 11 am: 1344 Borgstrom Ave., Ypsilanti.
