Burke, David Dell

Ypsilanti, MI

Age 84, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022 at his home. He was born December 6, 1937 in Shelby Gap, KY, the son of Arlin and Willie Ann (Maggard) Burke.

On November 1, 1958, David married Alice Mae Addington in Myra, KY, and they enjoyed 53 loving years together until her passing in 2012. In his free time, David enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting his cabin in Curran, MI. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

David is survived by his children Paul (Dadene) Burke, Gregory Burke, Randy (Lisa) Burke, Sherry (John) Russell, Alice (Scott) Jones and Chelsea (Dallas) Ashbay; 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and one sister.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 am Monday, August 29, 2022 at Ypsilanti Old Regular Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 9:30 am (5668 Denton Road, Canton). Brother Danny Adams will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4-8 pm Sunday, August 28, 2022 (101 S. Washington Street, Ypsilanti).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ypsilanti Old Regular Baptist Church.
