Danny Ray Hamilton, age 74, of Lakeland, Michigan passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, March 4, 2024, surrounded by his son Joshua Hamilton and his granddaughters Daisy and Delilah Hamilton. Born on July 30, 1949, to Frank and Gertie (Hall) Hamilton in Floyd County, Kentucky. He is survived by his sisters Patricia Elkins and Shirley Smolana. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry, Eugene, and Garry, and sisters Gracie and Brenda. He leaves behind his children Megan, Cassie, and Joshua Hamilton along with two granddaughters, Daisy and Delilah Hamilton. He is survived by many cousins, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.

Danny loved his granddaughters. The sounds of their shrieks, giggles, and running feet in the hallway were his favorite sounds. He enjoyed visiting friends and family, rarely was he found at home! His dogs, Bucky and Razzie, were a great source of fun. He loved the Oldies, old shows, and Judge Judy.

Danny was a regular attendee of Ypsilanti Old Regular Baptist Church where he went for most of his life. He was a Ford Retiree and a proud UAW member.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 4-8 pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11 am. All services will be held at Ypsilanti Old Regular Baptist Church located at: 5668 Denton Road, Canton Township, MI 48188, officiated by Brother Danny Adams.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ypsilanti Old Regular Baptist Church.
