Age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022 in Saline, Michigan.

Curtis Thomas Motley was born June 9, 1944, in Anniston, Alabama, to Grace Nunn Daniels and Toby Motley. As the youngest boy with several other siblings Curtis would have to have thick skin and his own personality. As a young boy, Curtis loved school and was very responsible, often helping his older siblings and taking the consequences earned by his favorite little sister. After a massive stroke during high school, Curtis decided to join the workforce, becoming a vegetable and fruit merchant for the local neighborhood. Curtis retired from General Motors after 25 years of service in 1993.

Although not a very sociable person, Curtis loved whom he loved and enjoyed sparking up conversations with strangers and community members. He was well known by all. Curtis loved Blues, Jazz, and practicing his marksman skills. Curtis was also a collector of many things, often gathering stuff from around the community to add to his collection.

He leaves to cherish his twin sisters Eola Goode (Sammie – Deceased) of Ypsilanti, MI, and Zeola Lewis (John - Deceased) of Belleville, MI. He also leaves a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Curtis is preceded in death by his mother, Grace Nunn Daniels, and Father Toby Motley. Also preceding him in death is his siblings Elijah Williams (Lillie), Moses Williams (Ophelia), J.C. Williams, B.J Motley (Claudine – Living), and Elizabeth Daniels Thomas.

The homegoing service for Curtis will take place 12 pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Stark Funeral Professionals in Ypsilanti, MI. Curtis's final resting location will be at United Memorial Gardens in Plymouth, MI.
